SCLT recognizes the importance that housing plays in the health of our local economy.  SCLT is committed to exploring ways of strengthening Sheridan County’s diversity of housing stock to insure that the framework of our community is retained while we continue to grow.

Furthermore, SCLT understands the potential negative, permanent impacts that inadequately planned housing development can have on our local landscape.  As a result, SCLT partners with developers as well as authorizing agencies to represent our multi-faceted mission as it may apply to new developments.  The majority of today’s developers recognize the amenities that open space, recreation, historic preservation, and working agricultural land can have when in close proximity to development.  SCLT continues to advocate for income-stratified developments that build on the historic make-up of Sheridan County.”
